I am an atmospheric scientist in Earth Programme at SRON, studying how interactions between small atmospheric particles (aerosols) and clouds influence Earth’s radiation balance and climate.

My research combines climate modelling (ICON-HAM and ECHAM-HAM), satellite remote sensing, and in situ measurements to better understand aerosol–cloud processes and reduce uncertainty in aerosol effective radiative forcing and cloud feedback.

A key focus of my current research is the integration of new satellite observations (PACE, EarthCare, amonth others), with Perturbed Parameter Pnsemble (PPE), machine learning, and data assimilation to quantify and constrain model uncertainty, ultimately improving the reliability of climate predictions. I currently lead multi-model PPE (MMPPE) experiments within AeroCom Phase IV and the CMIP7 ACI-PPEMIP.
